Baiga Tribe Dance Dolls

Baiga Tribe Dance Dolls is made on basis of Baiga Tribal. The Baiga are an ethnic group and scheduled tribe found in central India primarily in the state of Madhya Pradesh, and in smaller numbers in the surrounding states of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. In Baiga Tribes tattooing is an integral part of their lifestyle. These Dolls are based on the folk dance of Madhya Pradesh.

They perform traditional music and folk dances that are mostly about the monsoon, the harvest, and nature. Performers wear traditional attire called begasaaj. The colorful flower headgear on top of their heads is called kalgi. A group of Baiga men, whose headdress is made with peacock feather shafts and flowers, and biaga women perform in a circle. Their metallic anklets add to the rhythm of their songs, Traditional instruments include a drum called Mandar and a wooden instrument with knobs called the thiski.
